I love making socks!
Not to beat a dead horse here, but I just really like the whole process of making socks! OK, that's not true. I don't like picking up stiches really, but I like doing it more for socks than for, say, collars. So, here's what' on the needles now:

Princess Taylor is turning 1 year old this week, and these are her socks.
I'm really enjoying working from Betsy McCarthy's Knit Socks! I had a mental block with Kitchener Stitch until I did one sock with her book in my lap.

Anyway, as you can see, Taylor's little birthday surprise (which her mommy already happened to see the other day...oops!) came from that book. I just thought she'd like a little color on her ankles instead of a little fur. And, of course, the toes needed some color for balance. The VERY observant will recognize this yarn from a previous project. The pink/multi is Adriafil Fluo Pink 25 and the solid is Elsebeth Lavold Cotton Patine' 17. And I just can't stop playing with these socks. Each new pair I make is my new favorite!

If you dislike picking up stitches (and oh, I am right with you on that), you just need to switch to doing short-row heels! Easy, and no picking up stitches!
And oh, my goodness are those cute socks!!!!
